The 28th SEA Games Steering Committee
The 28th SEA Games is expected to be one of the biggest regional sports events in 2015. Over 7,000 athletes and officials are expected at this event which will take
place over 10 days during the June 2015 school holidays. To be held across multiple venues in Singapore, including the upcoming Singapore Sports Hub, organisers are
committed to deliver a differentiated and unforgettable experience for everyone.
Mr Lawrence Wong
Minister for Culture, Community and Youth
Second Minister for Ministry of Communications and Information
Mr Lawrence Wong is the Minister for Culture, Community and Youth. As the Minister in charge of sport, Mr Wong leads the development of policies and
programmes in line with the vision and national strategy for sport in Singapore, Vision 2030. Vision 2030 seeks to encourage active community sports participation and
engagement, sports excellence and a vibrant sports ecosystem for Singapore. Mr Wong also introduced the High Performance Sports (HPS) system in 2013 to help Team
Singapore athletes train full-time and achieve their sports potential.
Mr Wong is also Second Minister for Communications and Information and a member of the Board of Monetary Authority of Singapore. He was elected as the
Member of Parliament for the West Coast Group Representation Constituency (Boon Lay Division) in the 2011 General Election.
Ms Indranee Rajah
Senior Minister of State for Law and Education
Ms Indranee Rajah is the Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Law and Ministry of Education. She has been a Member of Parliament representing the Tanjong Pagar Group Representation Constituency since 2001. She served as Deputy Speaker of Parliament from 2006 to 2011. She assumed the position of Senior Minister of State on 1 Nov 2012.
Ms Rajah was a member of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Community Development, Youth & Sports from 2006 to 2008.
Ms Rajah’s love of sports began at a young age. She started with track and field at an early age and progressed to cross-country running. She also represented school, pre-university and university in netball. She now regularly works out at the gym and runs to maintain her fitness.
Mrs Carmee Lim

Mrs Carmee Lim, B Sc., M Ed (Early Childhood Education) is a visionary educator committed to making a positive and significant difference in the way we learn. She is a pioneer in applied brain research and a champion advocate for music, movement and gymnastics in early childhood.
Carmee‘s background includes serving as a science and mathematics teacher, a principal as well as a Senior Inspector of Schools, Ministry of Education, Singapore. She was the Principal of Raffles Girls’ School for 12 years before being drawn to the field of mind/body research and breakthroughs in learning and performance enhancement.
Mr Low Teo Ping
Vice-President, Singapore National Olympic Council
Mr Low Teo Ping retired from an esteemed banking career in 2001 and now dedicates his time to the management, development and promotion of sports in Singapore and the Asian region. He currently serves on several community service organisations, boards and business organisations.
As recognition of his contribution towards sports development and management in Singapore, Teo Ping was awarded the PBM Award in 2006 and the BBM Award in 2011 by the President of the Republic of Singapore. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Singapore Sports Council "Sports Inspiration" Award in 2003.
Mr Masagos Zulkifli

Mr Masagos Zulkifli is one of five Members of Parliament for Tampines GRC
His prior appointments included Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Education from 2006 to 2010, the Minister of State for Education from 2010 to 2011 and the Senior Minister of State for Home Affairs and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs from 2012 to Apr 2015.
Mr Mohamed Abdul Jaleel

Ms Annabel Pennefather
Vice-President, Singapore National Olympic Council
Ms Annabel Pennefather, Vice President of the Singapore National Olympic Council, is a lawyer with more than 30 years of practice experience. She is currently Head of KhattarWong LLP’s Sports Law Practice.
Ms Pennefather is an experienced sport administrator and has been an international technical official at the Olympic Games. She has received a number of awards, in Singapore and overseas, for her leadership role in sports including the IOC Women and Sport Trophy for Asia in 2005 and the Public Service Star in 2012. She was President of the Singapore Hockey Federation from 2004 to 2012, Vice President of the International Hockey Federation from 2004 to 2010 and is now Deputy President of the International Hockey Federation’s Judicial Commission.
Ms Pennefather was Singapore’s Chef de Mission for the 27th SEA Games held in Myanmar in 2013 and has also served as Chef de Mission at the Olympic Games, Asian and Commonwealth Games. She was a Steering Committee Member for the inaugural Youth Olympic Games held in Singapore.
Mr Brian Richmond

listeners in 2007.
He began his broadcasting career in 1971 and since then has chalked up numerous significant milestones in his career including travelling widely to cover the SEA
Games, Asian Games and Olympics for Radio & TV.
In 2006, Brian was bestowed the ―Lifetime Achievement award by MediaCorp. In conjunction with Radio’s 75th Anniversary in 2011, Brian was presented with the
DIAMOND AWARD for his contribution to the industry.
Mr Saktiandi Supaat
Head, FX Research Team, Global Markets, Global Wholesale Banking, Maybank
Mr Saktiandi Supaat is currently the Head of the FX Research team in Global Markets (Treasury), Global Banking, Maybank covering regional and G3 currencies and
economies. From 1999 to 2010, he was previously a Lead Economist in the Economic Policy Department of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and a Senior Treasury
Economist at the United Overseas Bank (UOB).
Mr Saktiandi Supaat has been a volunteer with Young AMP, the youth wing of the Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP), since its inception in 2004. He has been
involved in various economics and employability related activities organised by AMP including career seminars for secondary school students. From 2010-2013, he was
the President of Young AMP and a Board Director of AMP (2011-2013). He has represented YAMP in various forums, including chairing the 2010 Community Leaders’
Forum (CLF) Forward Planning Exercise Employability Working Group and is currently chairing the CLF Labs Steering Committee which focuses on providing seed funding for
youth-driven community related social enterprise activities.
Mr Manu Sawhney

Manu, 47, was appointed as a Director of Manchester United Limited in September 2012. Previously, Manu served as ESPN STAR Sports (ESS) Asia‘s, Managing Director
since October 2007, directly reporting to the ESS Board, responsible for business leadership and P&L across 24 countries and successfully managing ESS, a 50:50 joint
venture in Asia between world‘s leading media organisations, ESPN and Newscorp.
In his 16 years with the organisation, Manu Sawhney has been a key architect of ESPN
STAR Sports‘ (ESS) meteoric growth in Asia making it one of the biggest media organisations in the region.
Mr Seah Moon Ming
Group Chief Executive Officer, Pavilion Energy
Mr Seah Moon Ming is Group Chief Executive Officer, Pavilion Energy.
Prior to joining Temasek, he was the Deputy CEO of Singapore Technologies Engineering, overseeing Singapore Technologies Aerospace, Singapore Technologies
Electronics, Singapore Technologies Kinetics and Singapore Technologies Marine. In Singapore Technologies, he concurrently held several senior management appointments
including President of International Business and President of Defence Business.
Mr Seah enjoys table tennis and was appointed Honorary President of The Singapore Table Tennis Association in July 2007.
Mr Richard Seow Yung Liang

Appointed Chairman of the Sport Singapore in October 2010, Mr Richard Seow Yung Liang has brought a wealth of sports, business and philanthropic experience to this leading role in the organisation.
His unabashed love of sports is matched by his grasp of the issues and challenges driving sports in Singapore and internationally. Mr Seow is frequently invited to speak at various forums about the value of sports in the lives of Singaporeans. He is also one of the most prolific amateur sports photographers in Singapore.
Mr Seow’s commitment to public service extends well beyond sports. He is a former board member of Boys Town and of the Singapore Government Parliamentary Committee for Finance and Trade & Industry. Mr Seow is currently Chairman of Republic Polytechnic and of the Anglo Chinese School’s Board of Governors.
Mr Seow spent 16 years in investment banking with firms such as Citigroup, Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan, followed by a stint in healthcare as Chairman of Parkway Holdings Limited. He currently serves as a Senior Advisor to TPG Capital.
Dr Tan Eng Liang
Vice-President, Singapore National Olympic Council
Dr Tan Eng Liang has made pioneering contributions in developing sports in Singapore. Currently the Vice-President of the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC), he was the first Rhodes Scholar from Singapore, Malaya and Brunei in 1961, and has held several other leading corporate and government positions, including being the Senior Minister of State for National Development from 1975 to 1978, Senior Minister of State for Finance from 1978 to 1979, and Chairman of Singapore Sports Council from 1975 to 1991.
In 2008, Dr Tan was a member of the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (SYOGOC) and the Chairman of its Advisory Committee for Sports. As a former national water polo player, Dr Tan had represented Singapore at several major competitions including the Melbourne 1956 Olympic Games, 1958 Asian Games in Tokyo, SEAP/SEA Games in 1965 and 1967, including being Chef-De-Mission at numerous major Games.
Having direct experience as a Sportsman and in Sports Management, he understands the Olympic ideals, legacy and heritage.
Ms Jessica Tan Soon Neo

As Managing Director for Microsoft Singapore, Jessica is responsible for developing and driving growth strategies for the Microsoft‘s business in Singapore, as well as deepening relationships with partners, customers and employees. She also focuses on leading Microsoft‘s ongoing corporate citizenship efforts in the country including Microsoft‘s efforts to becoming a trusted industry partner which works with businesses, communities and governments to help advance social and economic well-being.
Jessica has also taken new leadership responsibilities in providing strategic counsel and support for Microsoft Asia Pacific in the areas of Education and Citizenship.
In May 2006, Jessica was elected as Member of Parliament in Singapore for the East Coast Group Representation Constituency (GRC). She is Chairman for the East Coast Town Council. Jessica is also Chairman for the Finance and Trade & Industry Government Parliamentary Committee (GPC) as well as Member of the Manpower GPC.
Mr Tan Kian Chew

Mr Tan Kian Chew is the Group Chief Executive Officer of NTUC FairPrice Co-operative Ltd. He joined the Co-operative in 1992, after holding key appointments in the
Republic of Singapore Navy, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and the Prime Minister‘s Office as Principal Private Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister.
Besides his directorship in NTUC Fairprice Foundation Ltd, Mr Tan also holds the posts of Chairman of FairPrice International (2010) Pte Ltd, Chairman of NTUC
Foodfare Co-Operative Limited and Chairman of New Front Investments Pte Ltd.

Mr Leonard Tan

Mr Leonard Tan is the founder of PurpleClick, Digital Agency of the Year (2009-2013). He serves the board of Entrepreneurs Organization (Singapore Chapter) and is a
member of Young Business Leaders, the first major initiative of the Singapore’s Youth Network Committee. He created history by securing an exclusive partnership with
Baidu, the largest search engine company in China.
As a habitual entrepreneur, Leonard received a vast number of accolades including "Asia’s Top 25 Best Young Entrepreneur" nominated by Bloomberg Business Week, "The
Entrepreneur of the Year Award", and “Singapore Youth Award” (entrepreneurship category) – the highest national accolade in Singapore. More recently, Leonard was
awarded “Asia’s Top 10 Young Entrepreneurs” and “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” at the prestigious Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards.

Mr Stanley Tan

Stanley Tan is a volunteer and a businessman. He was the former Chairman of The National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC).
After a 15-year tenure of serving as a full-time humanitarian worker, Stanley was appointed to the Board of Global Yellow Pages Limited (GYP) in 2007 and today,
operates as the group’s Chief Executive Officer. In the non-profit sector, Stanley is also President of Beyond Social Services, Vice President of the MILK
(Mainly I Love Kids) Fund, a member of the Charity Council, member of the Advisory Council of the Asia New Zealand Foundation, Board Member of Babes, Chairman of Bukit
Ho Swee Family Service Centre and Chairman of Opportunity International Singapore
Stanley was awarded Honorary Officer to the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2002, the Outstanding Voluntary Service Award by the Singapore Red Cross Society in 2004,
and the Singapore National Day Award in 2011.
Mrs Josephine Teo
Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Transport
Mrs Josephine Teo was appointed Senior Minister of State for Finance and Transport on 1 September 2013. She was Minister of State for Finance and Transport from 21
May 2011 to 31 Aug 2013. Mrs Teo has served as Board Director of Business China since Oct 2007. A Member of Parliament since 2006, Mrs Teo was formerly Chairman of the
Government Parliamentary Committee for Education and Assistant Secretary-General of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC). She was a board member on the Singapore
Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (SYOGOC) from Apr 2008 to Dec 2010.
To enhance Singapore’s position as a leading global air hub, Mrs Teo was appointed to chair a multi-agency ‘Changi 2036 Steering Committee’ in
2012. This Committee provides strategic direction for the long-term growth plans of Changi Airport.
Mr Teo Ser Luck

Mayor of North East District
Mr Teo Ser Luck was appointed the Minister of State for Trade and Industry on 21 May 2011. He is also Mayor of the North East District Community Development
Mr Teo was instrumental in leading Singapore’s successful bid for the inaugural Youth Olympic Games (YOG) that was held from 14 to 26 August 2010. He was also
the Advisor to the Singapore 2010 YOG Organising Committee and the Mayor for the Youth Olympic Village.
He actively participates in sports - football, triathlons, marathons and has completed 5 Ironman races.
