The old National Stadium was the old venue for the opening and closing ceremonies of the SEA Games.

Opened in 1973, the old Singapore National Stadium (featured above) was the venue for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the 17th SEA Games held in June 1993.

With a seating capacity of 55,000, the old National Stadium was also the hub for most of the SEA Games events and activities. The old National Stadium was demolished in 2010 to make way for the Singapore Sports Hub that houses the new National Stadium.
